Look what I came across on the Japanese Lenovo website. It looks to have the i7 / 256GB / 8GB combination. I'm guessing it will be released this month. I'm still curious about the touchscreen X1C though.

Looks like it comes with some nice chopsticks (probably representing its Japanese/Bento design heritage), a pretty sweet leather(?) sleeve, and nice packaging. It comes at a bit of a premium though.

I'm not sure but I think this will only be a limited run collection in Japan.

Considering only 500 are being made, it will be impossible to get.

Yeah true. Now I wonder when we'll see those specs on the US models. Hopefully the next 11/14 partner site will shed some light on the touch model (if it's even coming anymore).

    Want.

You can sign up for email notifications for when they start selling these so you can reserve one before they are all gone.

Also, in case anyone hasn't noticed.
    -i7
    -8GB RAM

That isn't a configurable option last time I checked.

How can we reserve one? I have been waiting since the initial launch for an i7 w/8GB RAM, and if this is the way to get it, I want in!

whoa the 20th Anniversary edition... Japan only probably.. 500 machines.. it will be like the Reserve Edition (probably 2 to 4 times the price of the similarly specced normal machine).

    Actually, no.

It's spec sheet clearly states that its 166kJPY w/out tax. This works out a bit under 2.1kUSD. Not cheap, but not 2x-4x the price either.

Anyways. I wish they didn't go for a 20th anniversary laptop. Laptops aren't things you use for a long time. I want a 20th anniversary Thinkpad bento box or something.

whoa that is actually affordable. A similar specced X1C we buy here in Australia would costs about 2300 USD (with discounts).

Such anniversary laptops are meant to be fondled, not used. :D
