What? there is no ThinkLight?!? This is the most desirable advantage in Thinkpad ! :)

It does have a ThinkLight, so calm down your "desirable advantage" is there.

ok, I give up. I can't keep up anymore. Does that mean that the X61 will no longer be offered? It was up for sale a few days ago - is it still and for how long?

The X200 isn't for me. At 3.7 lbs it's creeping up beyond ultraportable. and no LED screen like the X300. For me, the longer battery life just doesn't count for much, though the wide screen is kind of nice and probably doesn't burn ones wrists like the X61s. I think i'll hibernate and wait for whatever comes after computers. I'm getting tired of this.

You can still buy an X61 now, and I believe you'll be able to get one for quite a while yet (check the outlet page). I don't know when it will be taken out of the main notebook page, though, I'd imagine about mid August (the day intel releases the montevina refresh).

Biggest complaint for me is by far the lack of Displayport. The hideously thick frame around the LCD is also problematic, but far from a dealbreaker for this little gem.

Edit: Just noticed that the docking station for the X200 has Displayport, nice!

Can anyone confirm that the LCD is not LED backlit?

thanks for the guess about x61 availability. it's cheaper for me to order direct from Lenovo so I guess if I want an X61 I had better make up my mind. Thinking of defecting from lenovo after years tho and buying MSI Wind instead.

The X200's power is appealing, but I'm a bit surprised at its weight, especially without an optical drive (though that was expected). Still hoping for a Centrino 2 refresh/processor bump of the X300.

I love the traditional ThinkPad styling, but even I find the enormous bezel area on the screen to be rather hideous. I'd pass on a couple of the more obscure network options to get a normal looking screen back. I'll concede this point in the end because I'm sure I'll have to ;)

Perhaps a minor point: I also don't like the models with the audio jacks on the front. I don't believe the X200 is guilty of this, but the photos of the new T series seem to have this.

Well, I fear part of the 'problems' with the x200 are to not make it more appealing than the x300.
