Lenovo Outlet - ThinkPad X200 Tablet New - Discounted Laptops, Cheap Laptops, Refurbished Laptops, Discounted Desktops, Cheap Desktops, Refurbished Desktops
269 left as of now. These are going fast. I almost pulled the trigger but then I thought hey I don't think I really *need* a tablet.![]()
It has an 8-cell battery and a SL9400 1.8GHz C2D CPU, 2 GB RAM and 32-bit Win7 Pro.
-
Good price for the spec. We australian are also promised outlet stores so hopefully we get some decent pricing.

This looks like a really good deal! I really wish they would have these outlet deals in India too!!! (though that is very unlikely)
-
You can't import an laptops into India anyway, right?

Nice gift for someone special
-
It's a very good deal, but keep in mind there's no warranty upgrades in the outlet.
-
anybody know what kind of screen is it? multitouch or outdoor bright?
-
From the picture it has the frameless display. It could be anything. It could be CFFL or LED. It could be AFFS or PVA. Probably the only way to know is ask if they'll give you the information.
-
Yes, according to the website there's still plenty - more than 200 left. The model is 7450 BP8, so you could call and just ask for them to check it out. The official description: IBM Personal computing support - ThinkPad X200 Tablet 7450-BP8 support
I guess if someone is looking for regular X200, this might be a better deal as it (probably?) comes with a better display, since it's a tablet. On the other hand if you're in the market for a tablet on a budget, this is a no-brainer. There's nothing even close to "Thinkpad-quality" in this price range, even if it comes with least good screen. The only thing that's strange in the official description (on the outlet web) is that it says 8-cell battery (3.5 hrs run time). That seems more like the run time for 4-cell battery?
For ordering outside of the US, one guy at Alienware forum has made a whole thread about it, so check it out if you're willing to try that out: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/452304-how-order-dell-us-non-us-citizens.html -
Outlet description of products can be inaccurate in many instances.
-
the panel used in the 7450-BP8 should be * FRU 13N7272, making it a 400-nit outdoor-viewable toshiba LT121EE08000 LED IPS panel.
*disclaimer: i don't know if all 7450-BP8 systems use this panel or if the ones being sold in the outlet have something else. more than likely nothing changed but i can't make any guarantees one way or the other. buy at your own risk. -
Darn it, if only I had the money I'd jump on this.
-
-
getting one now...somebody on slickdeals confirmed that the screen is an outdoor viewable
-
Damn it. I want it. But I'm currently on a vacation and I don't want to order it to my dorm. Could someone help me?
-
Can Australian buy them?
-
Don't have a friend or relative who could hook you up?
-
Never mind. I ordered it to a friend's address.
Vegas rocks! -
-
The cheapest I could find was usglobalmail.com and almost registered there prior to my R400 purchase but was lucky enough to find out that compuplus.com ships outside USA and for cheap!
So yeah, if I had to, Id go with usglobalmail.com tho their registering system is a hassle at first look but in the end its rather easy to do. -

Is the lack of multitouch a deal breaker? Will the super bright and glossy screen be too much for mostly indoor use?
Do you think the price will go lower in the next 2 weeks? I hate to buy it now and see the price drop another $50-100 right away. -
Something's weird. I ordered it last night and in my order status page it says...
1 7450BP8 ** 2.13GHZ 2GB 250GB W7P 1234567
12/28/10 $649.00
I thought it was 1.86GHZ? -
I assumed they weren't all the same; I really find it hard to believe they all have the Outdoor screen, or that they all have the same processor. it is just chance what parts you get, but they should all be mostly the same.
But I'm set on getting a X201t (the 4GB ram limitation on the X200t is a deal killer for me, as I'll have it for many years)
I do not think the price is going to drop, and I would be surprised if they are around by next Thursday. -
Wow they are going fast. Now it says just 119 available.
-
I suspect the X200t supports 8GB just like the X61t, though the official number is 4GB.

From what I've read using a Fujitsu Wacom driver variant (or one of a few Wacom drivers) will enable it to work properly. I don't know what is so hard about making a tiny driver work right, right out of the box, but Lenovo seems adamant on not fixing their driver, go figure (I don't know if you can have Multi-touch and pressure sensitivity working at the same time though. For me this does not matter as I'm getting the Pen only Outdoor viewable screen. Multitouch is pretty "gimmicky" in my opinion)
speaking of warranties (just to clarify I'll be buying this all in the US), what exactly does the 3year "standard" warranty cover? for example if I was visiting/ on vacation in another country and something broke on it (lets say it was something that is normally covered by the warranty) would I have to wait to get back in the US to get it repaired? Is screen damage covered by the "standard" warranty (if it were something like the "crumbling" / cracking screen bezel on some of the X61t's, I would think so. ie: if it were clearly faulty manufacturing, but something like a cracked LCD, or a gouge would not be, correct?)
If I got the "On-site" or "Accidental" Warranty on the side, would those cover issues seen while outside of the US? and would the service be the same? (would the On-Site actually be on-site if I were in, say, Japan?) or would there be extra fees, or would it not be covered at all? (something like screen damage would usually be covered by "Accidental" [right?], but is that only when in the US? or would it be replaced while I'm in another country, without extra fees?) -
Well I pulled the trigger. My confirmation email also states the 2.1GHz CPU. I hope that is true.
-
Someone on FW reported today that he received X200t with multitouch screen.
-
onsite warranty usually only applies in the country where the laptop is bought in, International warranty service (IWS) usually only covers you back to base warranty, but there are exception to this rule.
But accidental protection warranty is valid in all countries where your laptop is covered under warranty as part of the IWS. -
This isn't fair!
-
Who said life was fair?
I doubt the SL9600 makes a lick of difference. Perhaps in the resale value if you can find someone naive enough to pay extra for it.
If you have IWS your notebook should be covered anywhere there's service, which is almost everywhere. You can look up the machine type's IWS service status and where it's covered. There's a link in the sticky. It's important to note IWS cannot be added later. It either has it or it don't. -

According to people on both Fatwallet and Slickdeals that have ordered these, although the invoice and shipping info states it is the SL9600 CPU, when it arrives it is in fact the advertised SL9400. Also, I think the people that are receiving the multitouch screen actually bought the slightly more expensive X200T that was on sale in the outlet a week or so ago.
But hey-you might get lucky and get a better configuration than what is advertised. I've been watching the inventory for the past couple of days and I really want to buy one, but I really don't have a use for one...my X41T is up for sale because it never gets used, and that's probably what would happen to this also. However, it is very tempting indeed. -
So for example when you have onsite warranty in Japan, you would only get back to base warranty in Australia, etc. But there are exceptions to the rule in certain countries. -

Got one for my dad. Only 19 left!
EDIT: I just refreshed the page and now there is 0 left! Hope my order went though (>_<)' -
They are really flying out the windows.... but at this price, it is a real bargain.
-
I grabbed one when they had 19 too.
My friend wants my X200, so I'll give him that.
-
-
I never got the X200t back and the second X200t that i ordered never came to fruition due to the limited stock.
X200t is such a lovely machine, really beats the iPad in terms of functionality. If you need more graphics grunt get the diy vidock. -
Yeah.
Of course my friend initially wanted my old Alienware m11x, on which we already agreed. But then I talked him into selling that to someone else and getting my X200. We had a seminar at my university few weeks ago when I guy came and had an entire 100-slide presentation as pages in Windows Journal (In case anyone is wondering it was titled 'The Future of Fundamental Physics' and it was supposed to be for general audience: http://www.cornell.edu/video/?id=137 ) and everything was sketched. When I saw it I was: Uh, I *want* this.
Otherwise I don't have that much use for the tablet. I'll see if I can switch to writing notes on it. I need to get more organized.
Also grats to everyone who purchased. I think this is a killer deal. For regular tablet/laptop usage, I think the CPU is just fine. I plan to grab 2 GB more and switch to my 60GB SSD from X200.
Damn you Lenovo, damn you. -
Gone!!!!!!
-
why do American's get all the good deals??? Not only they have a higher average income and higher exchange rate, they always get cheaper products and deals like this. I am moving to the states.
-
Anyway, I wanted to jump on this deal but couldn't find anyone to buy my x200s off of me. Guess I'll wait for the next-gen x-tablet to come out in 2011 and then grab that instead. -
i think for people whom regularly purchases laptops on a whim and don't have a 6 digits bank balance, it is best not to visit these outlet stores too often, otherwise these thing can suck up your money like there is no tomorrow.
Congrats to everyone on the forum whom jumped on the deal. -
That is right. I jumped on this deal just to see the screen. I actually coming from X201 with AFFS screen to x200t cause I just can't resist the price
-
it's a arbitrage opportunity, people are going to sell their x200t on ebay and make instant killing.
-
Hehe yeah. The way I sustain the shopping is that I resell old laptops to my friends. $650 for m11x and $650 for X200 is a bargain on a market where each of them cost $2k. It's not only the laptops... they take pretty much whatever I buy in the USA (like I'm selling two of my older backpacks for $50). I just added $35 more and bought SLAPPA backpack. lead_org, you are right about visiting their outlet. I just barely sell this much to keep me sustained ^^
Sometimes they throw in something extra for bringing it all the way. This year I got WoW Cataclysm expansion and 1 month for free subscription from my best friend.
