    Chiming in here...my wish list:

    - vastly better quality display (IPS or FFS)
    - bring back the "s" version for slimness and higher build quality
    - improved battery performance (and a tighter fit, my X201 6cell is loose :< )
    - USB3/eSATA combo port
    - HDMI out
    - flushmount trackpad (new design like on T)
    - remove the modem port

:D :D :D What's wrong with the present build quality? A few loose screws and a crackling/squeaking palmrest won't hurt anyone, no?

My X201 9cell is loose too! (But, hey, it's not consider "good Lenovo citizenship" to rant about such "minor" thing! Just fold a $100 bill and shove it in to make the battery fit tightly, okay? :p )

Modem port removal? Are you sure you're not going to send fax or use AOL dial-up in 2011? This being a "business" machine, let's hang on to the modem! :)

I am not sure how many people really get stuck somewhere where all this applies:

    1. there is no WiFi or LAN connection
    2. one needs to send a fax (yet doesn't need a scanner!), because the other side doesn't use e-mail (?!)
    3. even when connected with dialup, doesn't want to use free fax sending services online

Lenovo engineers probably no, but i guess some of the marketing and product development may glance at some important informations that is presented. 2011 laptop design should be already committed to production, so any tweaks would most likely to be firmwares updates and cosmetic changes (if it is necessary that is).

There are still people whom uses the modem ports, but not many. There are many smartphones that can do fax nowadays (with the right apps of course), so i guess that mitigate the need for a modem port.

Given that wifi, 3G/3.5G (many phones can be used for internet tethering) and wimax have become more prevalent nowadays, the use of 56k dial up are only useful in far flung areas with little mobile receptions.

    Here's mine:
    - ditch the 16:10 form and stay with 16:9. The 16:10 screen is too narrow for MS Office use (esp w/ Ribbon).
    - 1366X768 minimal resolution.
    - use 2.5" HDD. It is difficult to find after market 1.8".
    - use recent keyboard design with larger Del and Esc keycaps.

:D First time I came across "Office Ribbon" as justification for 16:9 aspect ratio!
