Thanks for the explanation of screen differences. Regarding USB3, is it just your guess or do you actually have a contact in Lenovo who shares information with you?
Anyways, USB3 is a minor consideration for me now. I have borrowed my colleague's X201t tablet to test the pen drawing, overall design robustness and convenience to see what to expect from X220t. I've decided that I no longer want HP 2750p tablet even if they will offer USB3. The X tablet with an outdoor screen appears to be precisely what I need in airports and coffee shops with varying lighting conditions. I am also interested in the improved conferencing features of X220t. So, hopefully it won't lose any design quality compared to X201t.

Lenovo - Laptops - ThinkPad - X Series Tablets - X220 Tablet
So I was browsing tablets, and looks like sometime during the summer x220t is coming out.. -
Anyone know if the X220 Tablet has an ExpressCard slot? It seems to in the pictures, but it's not in the datasheet.
Also curious if the battery issues related to the touch screen will be fixed. -
Only in summer, why so late?

I am really liking the way the x220 looks, but the problem is the pricing, it is not going to be cheap... they are not going to be offering any sales or discounts anytime soon ...

are you serious?...time for a reality check. -

I dont think pricing on this will be getting anywhere near the pricing we have seen on recent sales from Lenovo (there were X201's out there for about 800ish with pretty nice specs)
-
If you only have $800 to spend on an ultraportable laptop I would look at the X201.
The starting price for the X220 is going to be around $1000. You might be able to pick up the lowest-end X220i for a bit less than that ($900).
With the IPS screen, 6-cell, and a faster CPU, you're looking at $1200 at least. -
Man, the X220 is super nice. I'm just trying to decide if it will be too small for me. Also not sure what to do with me E6500 if I were to buy it, as my Latitude has one of the best screens I've seen on a laptop and don't really want to let it go

I went to Best Buy today to look at some 10.1 inch screens to get an idea if I could live with that size only and I could for some lite work, then tried to visualize a 2 1/2 inch larger X220 screen. Not the best way of doing it. Or cut a piece of paper in the size of the screen diag. and see if that helps. -

I would think trying to take a look at Lenovo U260 would be the best that is also a 12.5in screen. If not, then the Sony Vaio Z with its 13.1in screen(it looks smaller than 13.3in screen on the Vaio S when I saw it in person).
