hmm...it looks like the X60 is available with Core 2 Duo, but the X60s is only available with Core Duo LV. I didn't think Core 2 Duo LV was shipping yet.

The Core 2 Duo ULV processors top out at 1.2 Ghz. However, they run at 10 watts. Compare this to 34 watts for the Core 2 Duo 1.6 Ghz. The ULV processor is aimed at sub-notebook computers, ultra-portables, and tablet PC's. If they do add this to the X60s, this notebook should easily get more than 9 hours of battery life.

BTW, I checked again and the Core 2 Duo ULV processors have in fact shipped (as of Apr 6, 2007). However, I don't think Lenovo has actually started selling any notebooks with them.

I just noticed that the Core 2 LV aren't available for the X60s now. That's weird, it was there when I was on their site on April 4th.

If I was in the market to purchase an X60s now, would you advise waiting? The reason I ask is that whenever I purchase something like this there is an upgrade released within 4 weeks after.

Santa Rosa is going to be out right around the corner, but Lenovo doesn't usually incorporate new technology in their Thinkpad line up right away. I would buy it right now if you really need it. New technology constantly comes out, it's pointless to wait for the "best" technology as you will be waiting and waiting. Now if Lenovo decides to add widescreen to the X series, that's another story, but there are no such rumors. They are adding a 14" widescreen to the T series though.
