    Hi all,

I have gotten the task to buy the lovely X61 with the 2.2 Ghz processor, 2-3GB RAM and the 100GB 7.200 RPM hard drive.

I am currently staying in Thailand and unfortunately I cannot get the X61 with those specs here. The highest spec is 2 Ghz and I can't get it with the 7.200 RPM hard drive.

Hence I was thinking of buying it via an US website who ships internationally.

Does anyone know of some good and reliable sites? I would order it directly from Lenovo USA but they only ship domestically.

In addition to this I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get the X61 with a bootable external Lenovo DVD burner instead of the Ultrabase docking station+DVD?

    Thanks!

Yes, they do. I have a T61 from them. (Am living in The Netherlands). There are a lot of people ordering at Euclid for their good international shipping. ;)

You would find more realible services from amazon.com before making decision.

I am also living in Thailand and also arranging to buy one X61 or X61s to replace my old model (R52). I impress on its durability ;). Yes, I waited this X61 for a long time. The pity X61 I discovered in Thailand is only 5400 rpm. Therefore, I researched some source of online store until amazon. If you do want some trustful services, as I do, such as fast shipping, risk-free guarantee, return policy of "dead on arrival" and etc. I recommend you to visit the X61 page on amazon.com first.

Thanks for the replies thus far.

I actually bought it in Thailand anyway. I found it to be too much of a hassle with shipping, etc. I actually bought two, as I purchased one for myself as well.

Mrtanarat: If you live in Bangkok and would like the Thai keyboard instead of the US keyboard, let me know. We could then swap as I find the Thai keyboard to busy looking.

Last time I checked, most electronic products sold on Amazon could not be sent abroad. Did you checked if they can indeed ship the laptop to your location?
