My brothers 3 month old T410s has a micro crack on the palm rest and I'm wondering if there is a way to purchase a replacement palm rest panel.

Would Lenovo sell something like that or should I search ebay/other resellers?

I'm just looking for the panel that sits below the keyboard where the palms rest.

    Thanks

    edit:

found this parts listing but cant figure out which part it is:

also, would this be covered under warranty? the laptop wasnt dropped or abused at all, the crack just appeared, perhaps from the pressure of holding it.

Partnumber seems to be 45M2370, details can be found here If the laptop is just 3 months old, Lenovo should replace it for you as it is not a`CRU` customer replacable unit.

yeh thanks. he just got off the phone and apparently they cant just send him a replacement so he's got to ship it out; just like you said.

i read a poster on another forum state that they sent him a free replacement though.

It's possible that he's covered under a support contract that allows in-house replacement of non-CRU parts (ex: he works in an IT department which services fleet machines with such an agreement.)
