    I found configurations for two different thinkpad models: 23736VU and 23746VU. However, these two configurations look the same to me. Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

    The differences are in the warranty service.
    The 23736VU has a 3 year "easy serv" warranty and the 23746VU has a 3 year "limited onsite" warranty.
    You will need to search the IBM site for how these warranties are different.

    BTW both of these notebooks are "Educational" models, which means they are not available through retail channels or from IBM direct; to get them you need to be an employee or student of a school or college that has partnered with IBM to be a preferred notebook source for that school or college.
