Thinkpad fans, what Desktop (all in one?) would you recommend?

I am a Thinkpad fan (yes, I still say this although I'm not thrilled with my current one year old T510). I am considering a desktop, I haven't had one in years, but I now have a dedicated space at home and don't need the mobility so much anymore.

I'm not limiting my new desktop to Lenovo. I don't know if I should even get one.

What desktop has comparable features of the Thinkpad series? solid build, reliability, good keyboard (a must!), lack/minimum of preloaded crap, solid business machine? I will primarily be running Excel, Access and using the desktop hard drive for backup storage.

    Thanks!

Are you knowledgeable enough to build your own? I don't think there's too much difference between brands. We use the old ThinkCentres in my office and they are good (Pentium 2.4 GHz, 1-2GB RAM, running WinXP). Depends exactly whether you need a fast CPU. If not, I would probably look into their outlet. With desktops, I feel much safer going for used/refurb stuff.

Also, have you considered getting a dock station for T510 for home and using it like that? (I absolutely love docks.)

    Do you need a warranty?

    If no, build your own.

Why not just get a decent monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and connect them to your T510? Desktop experience without buying a desktop machine. And if you don't like that setup, you can go right ahead and buy a desktop, and haven't wasted any money.

    edit: yeah, as unreal25 suggested.
