    Hi everyone,
I keep seeing everyone posting about customizing Thinkpads through the website, and the great service Lenovo give. But in the UK, you cannot buy directly from Lenovo!
The website I've been browsing is Laptops Direct, but the R61 14" only comes with Windows XP or Vista Business (I'd really like the Media Center features of Home Premium).

Anyone know if there is either A) a dealer I can get home Premium with?
Or B) An easy way of getting the Media Center functions on XP or Vista Business?

The prices over here are terrible compared to the USA, so I might just give up on Thinkpads.

Cheers for any help you can offer!

    B. You can't.
    A. You can get one from US, pay the VAT and end up much cheaper. You have to pay attention to which models get international warranty though.

Go on then, some recommended overseas dealers would be much appreciated!
How rare is it to get stung by customs charges?

    There are lots on ebay:

Someone sent a laptop to me from China (and a psp too), and Fedex asked me to pay custom, I just ignored the letter, then no one got back to me yet, that was 2 years ago.

Just make sure the package looks like a gift.

Yes, i pay low tax on my machine... you will have to pay 'some' tax anyway to import something which is over 30 pounds, even it is a gift..
