Hello. I just bought a new X200 and love every aspect of it, but I noticed a strange issue just now.
I was using the laptop on battery yesterday and drained it to ~70%. After that I plugged the laptop in AC for the day while I went to school. The laptop was in sleep mode when I plugged it into AC. Just now (after using the laptop under AC for a couple hours) I noticed that the laptop battery reads "72% and not charging". I unplugged the charger and replugged it in and now it's charging just fine. What on earth does this mean? Do Thinkpads not charge when sleeping, or is there a larger problem here?
Thanks and I look forward to any responses!

Did you adjust charging thresholds using Power Manager??
I use these thresholds to only charge my battery if it falls below 50% and to stop at 95%. I do this to improve long term battery health. These thresholds are written to the battery (or maybe the charging controller) and will be respected even if the computer is off, or another operating system is loaded.
By default, the thresholds are set to start when below 95% and stop at 100%. It's possible that your thresholds are set below this. You can go into the advanced tab of power manager and battery maintenance option, set a new threshold, and then revert to the default thresholds to see if that produces the desired results. -
Thanks for the reply jonlumpkin. The threshold is currently set at "Always Fully Charge (Start below 96% and stop at 100%). I'm going to take your advise and change these threshold values.
I'm going to perform another test tonight with the original threshold values to see if the battery will charge when sleeping. If you have any other ideas regarding this issue, please do let me know! -
An update: Tried the discharge/charge again and now the laptop seems to be charging while sleeping. Perhaps it was a glitch. I'm going to keep my eyes posted to see if this occurs again.
Thinkpad is not charging when sleeping? Any ideas?
