I have a few questions regarding the Thinkpad insides:

    1. Does anybody know who makes the Thinkpad motherboards?

    2. Are the motherboards in the T60 models made by the same manufacturer as the ones in the R60? Or are they using, say, motherboards made by Asus in the T60 and Hannstar boards in the R60 because they're cheaper?

    3. Are the motherboards in the T60 models made by the same manufacturer as the ones in the T4x models?

I'm asking these to get an idea about the inside changes in these models and their reliability. People tend to focus on the build materials or architectural stuff and I couldn't find anything about the actual electronic part.

Using program like Sisoft Sandra clearly states that the maker of my Z61m is Legend Computer.

Legend Computer is the largest PC manufacturer in China, a long time PC maker for IBM PC Division, the maker of Thinkpad. Later, Legend Computer change its name to Lenovo and acquire its former employer, IBM PC Division. If you googling and search in wikipedia, there are many interesting articles about this.
