Hi I have t61 more than 2.5 years old. Few days back the screen started going crazy. some times I don't see any thing sometimes it's fine but after sometime screen flickers and I see lot of color speckles.
Is my LCD controller gone bad? How can I repair it or this it for the laptop?

    Regards,
    Giri

Do you have integrated or discrete graphics?

They would not be integrated on a T61.

Why wouldn't there be a integrated gfx card on a T61?

    It's 7662cto, nvidia140m. Now I get few color spots that's all.
Earlier it used to work once in while and now it doesn't.

Yes, just checked with external monitor. It's the same color pixels scattered all over the screen.
    What could be wrong?

    Graphics card perhaps.

IIRC the Nvidia card used in the T61 discrete models affected not only the T61 but other laptop manufacturers as well. I also have read something about a recall on that card.

Here's a link to a forum that has many many threads on this topic. Click here.

You have any warranty left on your T61?

If you are wondering if there are integrated graphics for the T61.

    Click

    Looks like Intel X3100.
