Open the Lenovo Diagnostics tool by pressing F10 during startup or use a tool like HWiNFO64.

I have been using it for a few hours...here is my first impression: Hinge looks much better, sturdier than the 4th. Keyboard still top class this thing is light and sexy win10 is a signature version boy, the trackpad is so smooth, i love it (I have been using MBP for 4 years) speakers are loud and clear.

The only things not happy: 1. Fingerprint driver lost by itself several times, I had to install/update it manually. 2. When I connect HDMI to my x1 carbon, it has high pitch sound sometimes, then I have to reconnect it or turn off and on the volume to make it go away.

I'm ok with the FHD screen, haven't tested the back bleeding or ghosting, it's good enough for me.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Can you share some usage experience and battery life accordingly? I'm more interested in the X1 Yoga when it drops, but I'm thinking the Carbon may give a decent prologue to it. Thanks

I assume you have both generations?

In the other thread I mentioned I was a worried about the wireless signal since the antennas are now moved into the main body rather than in the display bezel.

Can you compare WiFi signal strength (dBm) and reach of both generations, or alternatively compare 5th with any other laptop that has antennas in the bezel. If you have WWAN I'd be curious as well.

I don't have both 4th and 5th. I tried out 4th last year, used for a few days then returned it. I wasn't a big fan of that hinge and QC.

So far, the signal is fine, as good as my Macbook pro 2015.

I ordered my Gen5 here in the UK on the 10 Feb - as soon as they were on the website. Lenovo now telling me there are 'delays' so can't give me an ETA when I might receive it :(

Why allow them to be ordered if they don't have any in stock...

Sorry. but I found something odd here.
I can't find any information about my laptop when entered the serial number on Lenovo support website. Seems the website not updated for the new laptops yet.

Called tech support, they couldn't pull up anything with my serial number.

full capacity is 56.89, after three charges is 45.79.
Wow, seems the battery may only last a few months.

Seriously? 45.79 is the number for the current charge capacity! Not the remaining capacity when fully charged, the capacity the battery currently holds.

Seeing how your battery is at 80 %, this makes sense. No, your battery has not lost 12 Wh in just a few days.

Ordered mine in the UK on the 8th (same day they first appeared on the website) - will be delivered tomorrow via UPS. They did mention there was an issue in the factory which had caused a slight delay from the original 7 business day estimate for the build.

One strange observation is that they new X1 Carbon is supposed to have an IR camera by default for Windows Hello - but they all seems to be shipping with a standard 720p camera instead. All the press releases from CES said they would have an IR camera as standard.

Fan is on almost all of the time - I have the i7 - but was expecting the laptop to near silent under normal operation. Have finished installing updates etc but the fan is still going. Will have to see if this continues. Make sure the new Intel WiFi drivers are installed - otherwise there are dropouts.

Which screen did you get? Is it nice and bright?

How is the trackpad? Is it remotely close to the industry leading Apple glasspads?

It would be VERY interesting to hear of anyone who has a Gen4 to side-by-side compare the brightness of the screens....and if there is any color tinting, eg a yellow tint as with Gen3.

    Thx!!!

Got the FHD screen (only one available until later in the year). Brightness is fine for me - works well in sunlight and no glare with it being matt.

Trackpad is very good - almost on par with the Macbook.

Yes , so was I - especially after they announced it would be included at CES in January. Then again they said silver would be available and its not going to be launched in EMEA at all.

Had a few more hours to play with it now and got to say it's pretty impressive. Extremely thin and light. Keyboard is a dream. Trackpad probably the nest I've had on any Windows laptop. Battery life under normal usage is 10+ hours. Screen is very good for a FHD panel. Speakers good for this type of laptop. To be honest not many negatives at the moment. Only downside is the fan noise - which although not bad can get quite annoying. Will update in due course as I continue to use it.

Please, is the system snappy overall? Are you able to work with multiple desktops? Did you try to encode anything on Premiere Pro? Many thanks!

Yes extremely fast. Haven't done any encoding yet but can't see that being an issue based on my usage so far. Have just upgraded all the firmwares and drivers from the Lenovo website manually as the built it update tool doesn't detect any updates for some reason.

Do any of you know the exact specification for the M.2 SSd drive? Trying to understand the correct connector and length. Thanks

I looked at the specs in the guide at http://psref.lenovo.com/ but it doesn't say.
