I apologize...I've made a few topics on this issue lol. But here's my very last question: which series of the thinkpad is most durable/reliable (T, R, Z, or X)?
Or are they pretty much the same in build quality...
I didn't post the answers to the FAQ because the only thing I'm wondering about is durability, not graphics and all that sort of stuff...
I appreciate all your help and patience lol

Well, I would really suggest you figure out what kind of laptop you're looking for because they really are different: T is thin and light, R is desktop replacement, Z is multimedia, and X is ultraportable.

yeah well I'm flexible lol...I'm going to college but I'm not a big gamer so I'm not concerned with that, and I can carry it around whether its 5 or 10 pounds...so yeah my biggest priority right now is durability...

just to add, Z is "multimedia" (i don't personally think so) as well as thin and light like the T

    Starting with highest quality:
    X and T
    Z
    R

Z is either equal or slightly lesser quality than the X and T, depending on who you ask. I haven't seen one for myself, so I can't say for sure. As for the materials used, it should be equal to them.

If I were a college student at the moment, I would go with the new Z series. Just because it has a nice glossy widescreen. In addition, the Z series features a built-in camera, which is nice. I would like my T60 to have such a feature. It is nice to have when you want to arrange an online meeting with other collugues. In terms of built quality, I doubt that T and Z are any different.

awesome! thx...okay I lied i have another question then lol..one thing I noticed about the Z series is that it's got a pentium M, not a core duo processor. How much would this matter and impact the performance of the computer?

It's a matt screen, No glossy screen on thinkpads.

uhh that's kinda out of my price range but that would be ideal yes...so I was talking about the z60m and z60t...I take it because of the difference in processors they would be a significant downgrade from the t60?
