    Does anybody know whether lenovo is going to offer the new intel ssd on the thinkpad series anytime soon? Would be nice to have a 300gb ssd on my new thinkpad...

    you're better off buying it yourself from newegg and saving yourself the money.

    lenovo will have them soon but they will be overpriced.

    thanks... i dont care so much about the money, since my employer is going to pay. :) Do you know if the new intel ssd will come on lenovo machines in may or later?

    I got my Intel 320 300gb as a work expense... No way I'm ordering that from Lenovo, though!

    In any reasonable software development shop?

    SSDs are *excellent* for speeding up build times and improving heavy multitasking performance. Skilled developers are expensive; a couple hours saved over the course of a year more than make up for the cost of even an ultra-high-end SSD.

    I am expecting an X25 with my X220 order when it arrives in mid June. However as there has recently been a delay in deliveries of machines with Intel SSDs we can always hope that Lenovo is waiting on a supply of Gen 2 SSDs.

    I will be sure to post when received in 4 weeks.

    A private plane would save me a lot of time, but that doesn't justify running to buy the top-of-the-line Gulfstream. ;)
