I'm about to blow off my vista install my t61 and isntall XP.
Does thinkvantage have some smart code that increases batterylife? or can i just do away with it all?
Thanks.

You'll want to install the ThinkVantage Power Manager to get the most out of your battery.
You should also get slightly better battery life on XP than Vista. -
How do you just get the Thinkvantage Power Manager Software?
So basically when you do a clean install you just need this software and nothing else that comes with Thinkvantage? -

That is correct. Technically you don't have to install any Lenovo software, but I would at least install Power Manager and the Hard Disk shock protection.

Where are you located? Maybe I can pay you to do my clean install for me. -

where are you at. If you are in NYC I can do it for free -
Thanks though, I appreciate it!
