I'm about to blow off my vista install my t61 and isntall XP.
Does thinkvantage have some smart code that increases batterylife? or can i just do away with it all?

    Thanks.

You'll want to install the ThinkVantage Power Manager to get the most out of your battery.

You should also get slightly better battery life on XP than Vista.

How do you just get the Thinkvantage Power Manager Software?

So basically when you do a clean install you just need this software and nothing else that comes with Thinkvantage?

That is correct. Technically you don't have to install any Lenovo software, but I would at least install Power Manager and the Hard Disk shock protection.

Active Protection for 32-bit Vista, XP, and 2000(shock protection)
