    Hi,

After reinstall of Thinkvantage on my T500 I have 2 issues that did work before the reinstall.

    1. Battery-safe condition
If I activate this (in order to have the manager shut down the optical drive) it works fine. However after restart or after sleep/hybernation its always back to "deactivated". What am I missing?

    2. Battery maintenance
In the battery maintenance tab I have set the manager to optimize the battery charging. This used to produce a behaviour where the charging would stop at 96% for example - I dont recall that the battery was charged to 100%. However after this reinstall it is always charged to 100%. What am I missing?

    Thanks...

Hmm, that's odd. I just upgraded to the new power manager and my battery thresholds are working just fine - I have mine at 25-55%. However, I created those settings under the old power manager so maybe it's a problem with creating a plan in the new version.

I have other problems with the new power manager, though: 'lock on lid close' no longer functions, and I wish they hadn't changed the location of the switchable graphics menu.

Hopefully we'll see an upgrade soon!

For what it's worth, "Optimize for Battery Life" never did anything for me (always charged to 100%).... But the manual thresholds work.... But too bad I blindly believed the optimize setting was good for my battery, but after only 1 year of use, I'm only left with 30% of the battery's original capacity...

30% after 1 year? Thats pretty bad. Any manual setting seems better or what?

If it's truly only a year, the battery should still be under warranty. That is too far to drop in only one year (70-85% remaining is more common) and you should try and get it replaced if possible.
