I have a t60P and a t60 and both have the thinkvantage software. Some is very useful such as battery manager and connectivity software.I would like to eliminate what features slow the laptop up booting and dragging performance. The diskkeeper and security features just drags the system.Ive uninstalled Norten and intalled AVG which helps performance immensely. What else be removed that can enhance the machines performance. What can I remove to speed up performance????

I actually just did a full reinstall yesterday. I only installed Access Connections, Active Protection, and the Power Manager. However, make sure not to get rid of any drivers or utilities.

can someone make a list of what to keep and what not to?
    I am planniing to clean-install after I get a x200..
oh btw, would just deleting such "comp-slowing-thinkvantage-stuff"
have the same effect as clean installing?
    Thanks

IMO, rescue and restore doesn't do a very good job for its bulk. It's kinda slow too. I replaced it with Acronis True Image Home. In the end, you're better off trying the software to see if you like it.

R&R never failed me, not even once. And it comes free with a ThinkPad... :)
