might want to shave of that t9300 to a t8300, much better value for money.
the t9300 gives you .1ghz more clock and 3mb more l2 cache over the t8300, just not worth the extra money.

That actually looks like a decent deal for a preconfigured system. Personally I like configuring my own systems, but that isn't a bad price. I've had my T61p for just over a week now, and I'm loving it. I can attest from personal experience that it will take UT2004 at full 1680x1050 resolution and full settings, and not skip a beat. Games running on the Source engine will also run well. (I play HL2, HL2: DM Portal, The Hidden etc) and all run very well on my T61p.

ok great, I really don't play alot of new games, I just need a nice mobile workstation that I can dock at home and use as my main machine until nehalem comes out. The xps m1730 I have is just a little more then what I really need.

Yeah, I've got a similar setup and it's great. I'm running 64bit Linux, so the only things i've really got to stress the video card is Quake 4, but it runs at 1920x1200 no problems.

I paid $1500 for my rig, but that was with EPP

    I wish I had the 9 cell. That's a fine addition to it. :) You'll love the T61p. :)

I don't believe so. My brother has both a T43 and a T61, and says that his T61 isn't compatible with his T43 docking station.

I think it's a good deal, although the HDD and the Ram you could probably upgrade later for a cheaper price.

So...what will you do with your M1730 once you get your T61p?
