Do not open any boxes with security tape on them unless you want to pay 15% restocking on top of shipping it back. If the item has not left Chinar left, then you will not have to worry about paying the shipping to Durham, NC.

Call them and initiate RMA process within 21 days of ship date.

    Write RMA number on outside.
    Write address on outisde.

    Lenovo National Return Center
    Odyssey B690, Docks 51-54
    4121 Surles Ct
    Durham, NC 27703

Go to USPS and get 3 day air. $25.00
Add 3000.00 coverage for insurance. $25.00
    Add $0.65 for delivery confirmation.

Call Lenovo and tell them it's coming.

This is the safest and cheapest way to send a unit back to Lenovo if you're under time crunch. Parcel post is too slow, 10-15 business days from the West Coast to the East Coast by truck. I am meeting a 6/1/2007 RMA deadline as I await the arrival of the T61p.

I might suggest UPS or Fedex, and pay about 15-20 bucks total with insurance.
