I ordered my t61p with the 256card through the California education website. I only payed about 1300 (after taxes)...the same system on the normal consumer web page was over 200 dollars more. Not only that...I ordered it late on the the 21st and it shipped today...! I have had a lot of problems with their customer service but I am quiet interested on seeing how this machine turns out. How anti-typical of lenovo and I am quiet surprised. Hopefully everything will work out and I wish all of you could have had the same luck I have had...!

If you didn't mess with the specs, a lot of the education models are pre-built. I got mine fast last year.

I messed with the specs somewhat...

I got mine shipped in 2 days too. Mine only T61.. (no p)

you sure it was the t61p or just the regular t61 configured to t61p specs?

Very interesting. My 15.4 WSXGA+ w/ 256MB 570M also shipped today. Let's see how this turns out.

Actually, I did what you are doing now several days ago and I can say that once you added the WUXGA or 570M the part number changed to that of the T61p. My unit is labeled with the "p" even though I configured a regular T61. I also reconfigured my system using the CA portal and the price was exactly the same as the one I purchased in LA.

I am not sure, but when I configured mine they went together. Meaning if you selected either one the other wa s selected by default and you could not change it.
This is wierd enough for a new thread.
