Thats a pretty good deal if you ask me. There are a few systems in Lenovo's outlet that are similar to that price also.

I always look at store's return policies. TigerDirect is not one of the better ones.

You should be able to get a better deal using the B&N Gold program and buying direct from Lenovo. You'll also get a new processor which I think is 2.4Ghz quad at the base level.

    EDIT: Pricing -
The new processor, 4GB ram, rest matches tiger (buy ram separately):
    Price: $2,620.00
    Web price: $1,376.15
    After eCoupon: $1,238.53
    You save: $1,381.47

    Total $1,238.53

    W/3yr depot warranty:
    Price: $2,739.00
    Web price: $1,471.35
    After eCoupon: $1,333.73
    You save: $1,405.27

    Total $1,333.73

Check out Lenovo outlet right now. It has a few W520's for a good price.

@Bogatyr Thanks for looking that up. It does seem comparable, although it's saying for the 500 gb 7200 hard drive, I'd have to wait 4 weeks. But I like the idea of buying direct from Lenovo.

@jwolf7722 The Lenovo outlet seems to be down for me. Is the website outlet.lenovo.com?

Also does buying there or through the B&N link incur sales tax? That ends up being another 8.25% to the cost (versus TigerDirect).

Lenovo Outlet - Home page - Discounted Laptops, Cheap Laptops, Refurbished Laptops, Discounted Desktops, Cheap Desktops, Refurbished Desktops (Works fine for me. Just picked up a X220 tablet)

They had a system similar to what tiger direct but for 1100. There was only one or two so it may not last long cause thats a pretty good deal.

That W520 is a good deal from Tigerdirect, 2720QM, FHD 95% color gamut screen, with 3 year warranty? I'm seeing 1300+ other places. And you are buying a brand new unit, rather than refurbished (honestly for most people makes no difference).

I might be dense, but when I went there looking for a FHD W520, I only saw ones that were above $1300. Maybe they already were purchased? I don't necessarily mind refurb or new. I might just call Lenovo direct and see if they can match/beat the price.

Yeah, I thought it was a good price. I've seen/heard about Tigerdirect, but never purchased anything from them. So I didn't know if it was too good to be true or not. Might make sense if it's a bit older i7 processor, but when Ivy Bridge comes out, theses will all be "outdated".

Checking out the Lenovo Outlet site, it looks like some of the refurbs vary in price - sometimes up to $200. Was there a model change mid-cycle? The chat rep from Lenovo said it was only a difference of how long the laptop was at their warehouse. Part numbers: 4276XF1 and 4282XB2
