What is your average boot time on windows 8?

On my parents windows 8 computers, it usually boots up in around 20 seconds. For some odd reason, it takes over a minute for my y500 to boot up.

Keep in mind, I don't have the 16gb ssd. Just the hard drive. But still, for windows 8, that is ridiculously long.

So, is it just me? Or is this a common y500 thing. Cause I am getting a bit worried. Not only that, but the whole computer just froze when I ran a game and alt tabbed...

Well I mean that's sort of average and kind of good. But mine is crazy long...way too long for Windows 8. After the initial loading screen it shows a black screen for a good 20 seconds before logging into my account which takes another 10 seconds.

Not only that, but it just froze TWICE after playing a game for the first time and alt tabbing. And the temperatures weren't even that high. Mid to low 70s for CPU and around 60 for GPU. I had to hold the power button to restart it.

I'm really worried about this. It's the SLI version.

I made 2 video's about the SSD version a while back. You have to keep in mind, since you lack the caching ssd, that the HDD is only 5400rpm. I really suggest getting an msata for your laptop. Is your w8 up to date? There have been more people with issues about their laptop freezing.

Yes my Windows 8 is up to date. I saw both of those videos you made already but since they have the SSD I didn't really pay much attention since mine doesn't. The only part I'm "really" worried about is the freezing. Has there been any fix/more info about the problem?
