If the reseller claims you system comes with an IBM warranty be sure to call IBM when you recieve your notebook. If the warranty is not for the duration of what you orginally ordered from the reseller call 1-800-426-7378 and follow the instructions. You will need to show them a copy of your invoice and they will change your warranty. I had to call several departments to find this out so tomorrow I will hopefully be able to make one last call to get this resolved.

If you buy your IBM from a reputable retailer, you're fine. If you buy your laptop on Ebay, you are asking for trouble. I bought mine from Buy.com, only complaint, slow shipping. I've already registered my thinkpad with IBM and talked with customer support.

Off the subject. Why buy a lan cable from Circuit City for $17.99 when you can get a lan cable of the same length at Walgreen's for $10?? You would think a electronics store would sell computer related products for less than a drugstore.

You can look up the warranty here:

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/warranty/warranty.vm

Same as trying to go to Best Buy where you can't find a USB cable for less than $20 because they are all the gold plated variety, but you can get one at Wal-Mark for less than $10. Of course you can get it on the internet for $2.

It says 2008-04-06. Does it mean April 6th or June 4th?

I read positive reviews of the seller and they have been extreamly helpful. The reseller also covers the computer for one year even if the IBM warranty runs out. I just feel more comfortable with an IBM warranty and wanted to give a heads up to anyone else that buys from a reseller.

The one at Walgreen's was gold plated too. I buy my Lan Cable's from newegg.com but you have to count shipping into the cost.

As far as knowing BestBuy employee's. I would think anybody who knows a BestBuy employee has no money to own a ThinkPad.

I hate to make comments like that but my girlfriend has a college friend that applied there for some extra cash and they gave her a management position.

I love Ebay. I only buy from Power Sellers. With a laptop there can be risks. Many Ebayers are great.

I'm 25. I just bought a T43. And I know 2 current BB employees (college students) and one former employee.

I have bought many USB cables here, used to be $2 shipped, they raised it to $3 since last time I bought.
