I got a Lenovo T400 and the backlight stopped working (LED). Anyone have any ideas?

I did the same disassembling my T400 upper half (latch was wonky). Reassembled it to find backlight non-operational. Apparently some motherboard component was fried. Repair people were quite incompetent (out of warranty, found a component-level repair store) and broke my original LCD (which wasn't actually broken) and melted part of my motherboard.

Best bet would be to disassemble everything again, and make certain all the wires are connected as they should be, as indicated in the T400 Hardware Maintenance Manual. I remember one or two other users having the exact same issue with their Thinkpads, and both times, it was because they failed to connect all the wires.

^ Interesting tip. Got links to it? I only see one cable. There seems to be 2 connectors at the back of the LCD on the far right side but I don't recall anything going to that, nor can I find a cable.
Thanks guys! As much as I wanted to upgrade to a T420, I just spent like $1250 on a new dSLR and flash (Getting new lens soon too) so really don't have much tech budget left lol. -
The T400's Hardware Maintenance Manual can be found here. -
Thanks. Yeah I followed that guide. I'll check the mobo connections. I didn't even access that part when taking it out though.

Post this on thinkpads.com. They're a lot a more hardware oriented.
Also post this in the Hardware Components and Aftermarket Upgrades forum here.
Took LCD apart on T400, no more backlight?
