Right now I own a X30. The size and weight are perfect for me. However, it's just not fast enough for me anymore to run Vista. This leads me to a dilemma. I would like a X60s for its size and portability, but the XGA resolution seems too year 2000. Furthermore, it uses an almost one year old Core Duo Low Voltage CPU. On the other hand, the T60 14" has a much better resolution, more modern CPU (Core 2 Duo), but is slightly heavier and bigger.
I have not seen the T60 and X60s side by side so I can't judge the size differences. Does someone have a picture that compares the size of these two notebooks?

It seems as though you are preparing to spend $1500+ just to run Vista. Do you really need it?
If yes, my answer to your dilemma would be to get the T60 as the X60 is not as powerful and defeats the purpose of getting a new laptop to keep up with Vista. -
If you have a large budget, the x60t offers a sxga+ resolution.
I own a t60 and don't find it too big. My next computer will likely be the x60 or its sucessor. I just don't find myself using the optical drive very much and would love to have a smaller computer.
I believe you can find the complete specs of both computers on lenovo's website.

There was a review by notebookreview.com done that compares images with the x41 and t43/42
Go search for those reviews and has some great screen shots...it will take a while though. -
Vista is definitely not commercial strength. Every world-class corporation rebuked it, but MS released it anyway because, as everyone in business knows, a desperate microsoft is in panic mode and its stock has gone almost nowhere in years.
Be sure you use sxga+ for a sustained period of time (2-3 hrs) before getting sxga+ a 14"... some ppl love it but many ppl hate it.
I have an sxga+ 14" t60, and i really dislike the screen.
Get the x60 instead, with Atheros instead of the feeble intel card, and XP Pro instead of unstable vista. -
Why don't you get the X60 (no s), which supports 2.0 ghz C2D processors

Also, I'm getting the Thinkpad through EPP and they don't allow custom configured laptops, only preconfigured ones. Most of the X60 I see on their EPP site are still running Core Duo. Maybe I'll check out the Tabook. -

There's only one Core 2 Duo X60 on the EPP site, and it's way too expensive for me $1999. All the other X60 are Core Duos. There's one model that's in my price range.
What do you think of the price for that model? It comes with an 8 cell battery. It's Core Duo, not Core 2. -
Torn between the T60 and X60s
