Upon booting the computer (prior to Windows booting), I have my T60 set up to require a finger scan. However, the scanning seems to be a bit temperamental. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will read the scan at first swipe, other times it takes a few seconds, other times it doesn't read at all. Many times I have to completely bypass it and manually enter a password. It seems to have the most problems when resuming from a hibernate status. Anybody have any tips or thoughts on this? Thanks!

Yea, I lick my finger first. Appears to help.

just make sure your finger is of soft but slippery and firm condition when swiping. i tend to swipe my finger after a bath, or maybe a soaking wet times for my fingers, and the system does not recognize my finger.

I'm not sure, but it seems that when I swipe incorrectly, it would normally say something like, "You've swiped incorrectly," or whatever it says. However, for me, it doesn't do that in the boot up screen. Within Windows, it will tell me if I've swiped incorrectly. However, at the boot up screen, sometimes it will say I've messed up, sometimes it will accept it, but many times it won't respond at all.

actually, i do not use my laptop, or have an intense typing time with it, if i am going to wet my hands later on. my hands become shaky if i do that. a tired hand soaked in water is the best formula for some shaky hands and sweaty palms, a nice treat for your precious keyboard laptop.
