I prefer my mouse pointer to move faster than is what is set to as a default in windows. Every time I reboot it resets my mouse pointer speed to the middle so I have to go in and make my mouse move faster.

    1) is anyone else experiencing this problem?

    2) I also have the setpoint software from logitech installed for the external mouse that I sometimes use.. it shouldn't interfere with my touchpad/trackpoint but do you think this could be the problem?

    Any input would be appreciated

I used to have trouble with the sensitivity of my external Logitech mouse and trackpoint. I had the external mouse set to lower sensitivity than the trackpoint and everytime I had an update to the UltraNav drivers I'd have to reinstall the logitech drivers and it would clear things up. This was on an old Z60m in XP though so not sure if it will still apply to whatever you're running.

I seem to have a similar problem, and have concluded that it's the fault of SetPoint, **** Logitech! So far I haven't found a way to make them both stick to the settings after a restart.
