3 weeks ago I bought a new ideapad z580.So far I have been satisfied with it except for something that kinda irritates me.The touchpad got a discolored circle in the middle after around 1 week of light usage. There's also a bit of that on the left click button.I'm not sure if it's actual discoloration or not as it's mostly visible at an angle. Here's a pic: http://oi39.tinypic.com/288qamf.jpg I use it with dry hands and didn't spill anything on it...I have seen laptops with such discoloration but isn't that supposed to happen after a way longer time period ?

Please rotate your photo next time. That isn't suppose to happen though. Did you try wiping it clean?

Assuming you've already tried cleaning it with a good cleaner, that would worryingly indicate the use of much cheaper plastics by Lenovo. And you are perhaps cursed with the same problem as me -- I evidently have very corrosive sweat because I can create shiny patches on keyboard keys, palmrests and touchpads far quicker than anyone I know :(

I tried cleaning it with a microfiber cloth with very little water(just in case water would do more damage as I wasn't really sure of what I'm doing) and it did nothing, could you recommend me something to try cleaning it with ? And yes I do have oily skin and I sweat a lot but I'm pretty sure my hands don't sweat under normal conditions. But yes they are probably oily lol.

That's just normal skin oils. For some people, this happens faster than for others, and some plastics pick it up faster as well. I'd use a mixture of rubbing alcohol with some water and clean it, with the laptop powered off. Wipe it dry, and then let it dry for a little bit before turning on again.

if you are eating while using your laptop that's a no no as oils from pizza or something will make it wear faster.
