This is somewhat of an odd question, but maybe someone has found a solution to this problem.

I am a big fan of the middle button TrackPoint scrolling feature (classic, NOT smooth, scroll). It works fine on my x200 Tablet; however, it does NOT work when I use remote desktop from my x200 to another machine (e.g. my Desktop workstation).

When I hold down the middle button in a remote desktop session I see the TrackPoint scroll icon, but it has no effect. This is fairly annoying and if anyone else has experienced this problem and come up with a workaround, I would much appreciate it.

Side Note - I use a IBM PS/2 SpaceSaver II (with TrackPoint) on my desktop and have been unable to locate a driver that will install on Vista/7 64-bit. The TrackPoint works fine as a regular mouse, but I am unable to activate the classic scrolling or adjust the sensitivity of the TrackPoint (light touch). If anyone has discovered an appropriate driver (I've tried all the keyboard drivers I could find on Lenovo's site), I would appreciate that as well.

    Thanks,

I have the same issue. It'd be nice if there was a solution, but I'd doubt it; I believe it is due to the way the UltraNav drivers work.

    Hi!

    Please try this:

    Go to C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP
    Backup the TP4table.dat file.
Open the TP4table.dat file with notepad.
Under the "Pass 0" section add the following:

    ; Remote Desktop Connection
    *,*,mstsc.exe,*,*,*,WheelStd,0,9

Reboot your laptop or kill the Synaptics processes (SynTPEnh.exe, SynTPLpr.exe) then start SynTPEnh.exe again.

That trick did it for me but I would suggest that you keep a version of the TP4table.dat because performing updates to the ultranav drivers will overwrite the file.

Those are some MAD SKILLS. Repped up.

Note - TP4table.dat was located in "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\TrackPoint" for me. I would assume this is because I have TrackPoint only rather than UltraNav.

I guess the question now is why isn't this implemented into the official driver if it's just a single line in a DAT file  .

    Thanks for the great tip.

Now I'm just left with the problem of my IBM PS/2 Space Saver II not having an appropriate driver for Vista/7 64-bit.

That solution has been around a while. You can use for the likes of iTunes and OpenOffice, though I think Lenovo added OpenOffice to the latest UltraNav Driver.
