I'm using Windows 7 with the latest beta drivers for UltraNav. I'm noticing that the horizontal scroll doesn't work in Opera/FF but it does in IE8. I'd like to know if anyone is experiencing the same thing and if this is a browser, windows 7, or beta driver issue.

    Thanks.

I believe it's the same on any platform. I had a XP on a T42p, and it was the same thing.

Some recommend to disable the trackpoint and use the default windows behavior, but the windows behavior is awful.

Huh, bummer. So basically it's IE8 or no horizontal scroll. If only IE8 had mouse gestures I would switch...grrrr.

This is a long standing problem in Firefox (and apparently Opera). Horizontal scroll works fine in IE8 and Chrome.

No need to go back to IE. Horizontal scrolling works at least in Firefox:

Add the following lines to your TP4table.dat (usually found in C:\Programs\Synaptics)

    ; Mozilla Firefox
    *,*,firefox.exe,*,*,*,WheelVKey,0,9

Eventually you have to activate horizontal scrolling in Firefox. Type about:config in your address bar, press enter and find the line:
    mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.action
Change it from 0 to 1.

Thats all you need to do. Usually the first setting is enough.
Right now im trying to make it work in opera. If anybody knows how, let met know.

That did not work on Firefox 3.5.3 on my Windows Vista SP2 install. Any other tips...
