    Hi, everyone.
I have an X60 (no s), model number 1709CGU, and I haven't modified it since I got it, except for upgrading it to Vista Business. I can't seem to get the Trackpoint's tap-to-click mechanism to work. Any suggestions or reasons to why this might happen? Or maybe this system doesn't have it at all?

Hey, it would be in control panel in windows xp you have to go to CP then clcik on mouse then go to the ultranav tab. inside the touchpad section click on settings and then choose tapping from list make sure it is enabled it should be checked. Vista should be something similar I don't have vista but I'd assume it would be in control panel under mouse settings. good luck.

The X series don't have the touchpad, only the trackpoint. I am not even sure the trackpoint has the tap to click option.

    Yep, it's possible.

    1) Press Fn+F8 to open UltraNav.
    2) Click 'Manage Settings' to open the mouse settings.
    3) Go to the 'UltraNav' tab.
    4) Click on 'Settings' under TrackPoint.
    5) Check the 'Press-To-Select' box.

Note: You may also want to check out the 'Press-To-Select' settings.

Thanks Matt. But I hate to tell you this; the Fn+F8 doesn't seem to open on my x60.

Really? Oh, I bet you haven't installed the UltraNav driver since you upgraded to Vista... you can get it on Lenovo's web site...

If you do already have it, search for "mouse" in the start menu, it'll come up as a result.

There is indeed the 'press-to-select' thing, however it seems to be pretty useless. It is nowhere near the ' tap-to-select' - instead you have to press pretty hard and then the pointer usually wanders off and you click on the wrong place.

Well, you can adjust the sensitivity, but I agree, it's not a great idea. Tapping on a touch pad much easier... touch pads are more sensitive too.
