    Hi all,

I just arrived in Seoul, Korea a month ago and unfortunately had my computer break yesterday. I own a Thinkpad T42 and yesterday night, it suddenly started acting bizare. Everytime I tough it, the screen goes crazy and the computer freezes. Half the time when I start it, it doesn't even turn on. Other times, it turns on and works fine, until I touch it! I think its something to do with the motherboard, as I have reformated the hard drive and it hasn't solved the problem.

I tried calling Lenovo here in Korea, but they said they wouldn't take in a laptop from outside the country. I called Lenovo in the states and they said that my warranty (3 year full warranty) covers repairs at ANY global office.

I'm thinking of going to the Lenovo office here in Seoul and seeing if I can work with them to fix it. Has anybody had any success repairing a Lenovo laptop in Korea or internationally?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

The key question is whether your T42 has an international warranty. You can check that at the lenovo website. If it does, the same webpage will list the contact numbers in each country for repairs.

    Good luck!
