I am trying to make the recovery discs for my X200 using the Thinkvantage utility. I have my X200 in it's Ultrabase and it is working just fine. My Ultrabase has the optical drive and Windows sees it just fine. I have also used this optical drive to install programs for it in the past. I am running Vista Business x32.

So the problem is that I have a blank DVD in my drive and start up the Thinkvantage utility to make the recovery discs. When I do and get to the option to choose the recordable drive to use, the list is empty. What do I do?

Thanks for the response Zaz, but I don't know what you mean. My laptop works perfectly and my Ultrabase seems to work perfectly as well. i have installed software in the past using the optical drive in the Ultrabase.

Call up Lenovo, if you explain the situation they will most likely send you a free set.

Have you burned any discs with it?

You call up Lenovo and tell them about this problem, they will probably send you these recovery media discs for free, provided that you are within warranty.

Thanks, i will give Lenovo a ring and see if I can get the discs. That would stink if I can't use the burning capability of the Ultrabase drive. I haven't have time to check though. I will report back when I do.
