Windows XP does not have the support for the functions you need to utilize turbo memory. Turbo memory has show to give no performance increase anyway, so it's kind of pointless to get worried about.

Does it increase any performance in Vista ?
I didn't find out - and that is why I shifted to XP.
It just ruined my Dollars, I think...

Nope, does not help in Vista either. You'd have been much better off spending the money on an additional 2GB of RAM (4GB total) than going 2GB memory + 2GB turbo memory.

Yes, it's generally much cheaper to buy your own memory. OEMs tend to rip you off on memory.

Hard drive might be enough to prompt re-activation. I've seen it go both ways.
Video card usually isn't, but you can't change the video card in a T400 anyway, it is soldered directly to the motherboard.
