So, I have a T61p that runs fairly cooly, but want it to run even cooler since my fan happens to be quite quiet. I've tried using tpfancontrol, but for some reason, I can't seem to alter the fan speeds. Are there other solutions I can use to make my fan run faster more frequently?

Erm....Its not possible. The fan cannot be controlled at the software level in Thinkpads.
