1.) How long is Lenovo going to offer XP Pro on the T61?
2.) If I choose Vista business, it gives me the option of a free XP Pro downgrade disk. Is it possible to have them install XP and give me the Vista on a disk? I want XP for now but I want the option to switch to Vista in the future, especially if i can get both OS's for the same price. The only thing is that i don't feel comfortable downgrading to XP on my own if Vista comes installed.

You may have till the 15th of this month. some will hold out till June 30 but i wouldnt count on it.
no, they definetely wont do that. xp is super easy to install especially if you install using the site's "clean install" guide. its worth your time to reinstall anyway no matter what you use. -
1. They will stop by the end of june
2. No. Downgrading to XP from Business works fine and is fully supported so don't worry about it. -
If you get the XP on DVD for free (like I just did), and you create the restore disks for Vista Business when you first receive the machine, you should have ZERO problems with going right to XP.
I am assuming here that the XP DVD they are sending is not an OEM Windows disk, but a factory restore disk. So that should require no special skills to install XP, even if the guides here are great, letting the DVD run its restore is easier.
