I've just received my T61P back after some repairs - including replacement of motherboard - but the performance of the unit seems much more erratic & sluggish than I remember it being pre-repair. I looked at the performance information & noticed that the WINSAT score for the processor speed was 4.5. Is this normal? I'm not positive but my recollection that before the repair the WINSAT processor score was in the low 5's (in line with the other subscores). I'm not particularly concerned with the scores per se, I'm just trying to establish a benchmark to asssess the outcome of this repair. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I'm definitely wondering...

The unit is a T61P 6459-CTO with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7800 processor running at 2.60 Ghz. What kind of WINSAT score should I expect from this processor? What score do Thinkpad T6x processors typically receive?

My computer isn't a Thinkpad; I have a P8600, an 2.4GHz Dual Core Intel CPU, and it scores a 5.3 in WEI.

I don't have a thinkpad wither, but my 1.83 GHz T5550 has a score of 4.8 so something on your system is messsssed up.

    I've got a T61p 6459-CTO to, but mine has a T9300 which is 2.5Ghz. My WEI is 5.4.

I doubt the WEI benchmarks really take advantage of any of the features from the 9 class vs the 7 class, so I would expect that you would have the same or higher then me.

Have you tried re-running your WEI while nothing else is going to make sure its the proper score?

Thanks for the input. Yup, I've run the WEI multiple times always with the same result. I've just run the Everest benchmark program & it reports my CPU FSB is 345 MHz & according to the specs for my chip it should be running at 800MHz. So, I guess something is amiss with the new motherboard they installed ...

Wow. Well this is weird. Ran everest ultimate 5, same result as the earlier version I'd used. Installed CPU-z, first test gave improved, though similar, results. Ran it again & it now shows much improved FSB (798 MHZ) but core speed at only 1596 MHz(?).

Ran WEI again & processor now receives 5.4 (5.1 overall). Any explanation for the massive variation? Can testing this thing have affected the outcome?

Let me not say "No", but I've never seen it happen.

I did say it was weird. Core speed is still low. Not sure whether I should rerun these tests or not ...
