Has anyone upgraded the MSATA drive in this laptop and installed Windows on it? Since the Current 32gb MSATA does not show up in Disk Management would Windows 8 See the larger MSATA?

I'm pretty sure it would, I just replaced my 16gb Msata with a 256gb one and it instantly showed up in windows, I even put win8 on it and now everything is as fast as light speed :)
