    Hi all,

I just bought a U330 a few days ago and I've noticed that the media keys on the strip above the keyboard (mute, play/pause, equalizer buttons, volume, etc) are not always on. The only light that is on all the time is the "switch" button that the manual says switches between the playback buttons and the equalizer buttons. If I hit the switch button, the other buttons come on and I can use them, and then go off if not used for a few seconds.

Is this normal? Doesn't seem right to me because I have to hit two buttons just to mute/unmute. But then if something is wrong, why would they work at all?

    Thanks.

It's normal. You're supposed to hit the Shuttle key for all of them to come on.

Thanks. Kind of annoying compared to media strips on other notebooks where they are always on.

Well, it actually looks nicer this way. And you can't accidentally hit them.
