Amid the horrid reviews of the U110's screen, I'm afraid to jump at the U330, despite this killer deal.

Is the screen similar, or is there word they've improved it?

    What horrid reviews are there?

I know the two screens resolutions are different. The U110 having a higher resolution for some reason..

    the review here on notebookreviews.com!

    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4401

In the summary, the reviewer put "horrible screen" under the Cons, and had several complaints about it in the main review.

I also would be interested in knowing if the u330 has a similar screen.

I think the reviewer didn't like the glossy/reflective nature of the screen. This may simply be a matte vs glossy issue.

According to the specs, the max brightness is different. U110 is 370 nits. U330 is 300 nits (same as X300).

I appreciate the matte/glossy issue. But the reviewer said that there seems to be an additional layer in front of the already glossy screen?

I prefer matte, but I don't mind glossy... but that just seems like it could be weird. I can imagine how it could distract from optimal viewing.

well this is also LED (u330) vs CCFL (u110) so i would imagine that the u330 has a better LCD

    They both have LED backlighting.

    The U110:
    11.1" widescreen WXGA (1366 x 768) LED backlit

    The U330:
13.3 WXGA LED Backlight TFT 1280x800
