I just recently purchased an ideapad u330 and I have an issue with the keyboard. i have to either press firmly onto the key or i have to press in the middle of the key for my typing to register. It's fairly annoying to go back and retype what i have already typed out.

I was wondering if anyone else has an issues with the keyboard like this and if it's a common thing on lenovos or did i receive one with a defect?

That issue seems quite rare. Hit the keys that are doing many times, it may make them work.

I had the exact same problem of non responsive keys. Sent it in to lenovo and they replaced the whole keyboard. It is now good.

It seems like i'd have to send it in, having to wear the keys down for it to work seems like an odd way to fix the problems with it.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, I have noticed the same. Has anyone dealt with this and been able to request a new keyboard and replace it themselves? It would be difficult to be without the laptop for a few weeks for a warranty replacement.

As far as I know, there are no CRU parts on the ideaPads, so you'll need to send it in.
