UPS shipping question - went from KY back to China then to AK?

just wondering, why is KY in there for customs if it goes to AK from China?

 

The customs processing center is in Kentucky - all packages go through there, it's normal.

 

Mine did the same thing, and it left Alaska at 5pm. I now have no idea when to expect delivery.

 

I think the first message is from Kentucky because that's where UPS's central hub is and all it says is that there's no package information. At that time, the notebook was probably still in China, yet to be shipped. After it entered UPS's system, then you could see the actual location. My notebook is in the same shipment as yours as all of our times match.

 

but shouldnt it have to clear customs once it comes to the US which is Alaska instead of Kentucky?

also mine had a estimated delivary date of 6/4 but now its not showing up

 

Not sure, but don't worry, it's perfectly normal. My laptop spent an entire day (arrived night before, left late the next night) at the Kentucky customs facility before continuing on its way.

 

Basically customs error is what I have been told, and the laptop is actually in Louisville now...at least thats what the website says.

 

Anyone else's shipment still in KY?

 

Courier company's not always reliable

 

Going on 4 days.

 

My T400 was supposed to arrive on 06/04. On the 31st of may it showed:

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 05/31/2009 8:25 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN

But today it was updated to:

LOUISVILLE, KY, US 06/03/2009 7:33 A.M. SHIPMENT DATA NOT AVAILABLE ON TIME TO BE PROCESSED WITHIN NORMAL PROCEDURE. SHIPMENT HAS NOT CLEARED CUSTOMS / BROKERAGE RELEASED SHIPMENT. SHIPMENT IS SUBMITTED TO CLEARING AGENCY FOR FURTHER CLEARANCE

So, It's a waiting game.

At least it didn't take a month an a half to ship, like a X61T I ordered a couple of months ago. The T400 took only 12 days to ship, so I'll patiently wait a few more days.

4+ days in Louisville and the shipping data is not available? Has UPS bumped their head or something?

 

But it still says that it will be delivered on time. So, let's hope for the best.

 

Yeah I guess, I needed this laptop last week so I'm a little stressed atm. Hopefully UPS wont fumble it again.

 

My UPS status has changed to:

Same. Maybe tomorrow will be possible.

 

My status changed to "In transit" so I suspect that means it wont get here on time.

 

Im still at import scan Lousiville. At this point Im assuming USP has a few more fumbles in them before it goes out for delivery.

 

How annoying it is!!!

Yeah Im lucky that it was delivered to my office pretty early. We are one of the first stops for our UPS guy, but at home its usually late after noon (e.g. 5-7pm).

 

So. It seems that Lenovo does (mostly) ship on time, and it looks like they consider the whole Lousville, Ky thing in the shipping time.

I'm really happy with this experience. Three months ago, I had an awful experience with two x61 tablets. But this time, they made it up for me.

The machine seems to be really well built. And the thinklight illuminates the keyboard, not the face.

 

Yeah I love mine so far, and I tested the thinklight in a totally dark room and it lit the keyboard up perfectly without the blindness. I have tested it in other low light situations with similar results. Definitely worth the wait.

 

liquid, is your WXGA+ a led or ccfl backlight? If ccfl, how is the overall image quality?

 

Mine is the CCFL version and I gamed last night just fine. Granted the matte doesnt look as good as the ultra sharp glossy on my dell, but then again I didnt want glossy. Image quality is actually quite decent and I had no issues, eye strain, or quality issues. I think some people need to realize that matte sometimes doesnt looks as pleasing as glossy, but comes with no glare.
