I have an E420 and my U.S. adapter has a plug like this :

I'll be living in Sweden for a while so I'll have to use the "Schuko" plugs and 220V 50Hz. I haven't traveled much so I'm not 100% sure what I have to do. Can I buy just the cord with the correct plug (if so:where), or do I have to buy the whole thing when I'm in Sweden?
Also, would a simple adapter like this work without harm to my laptop?

The simple travel adaptor should work fine, the Lenovo AC adaptors are designed to handle various voltages depending on which region you are in. I use such converters on my Lenovo with no problem when I was in Europe.

My first ThinkPad was ordered from USA, I live in Europe, all I had to do is to order EU adapter plug, it cost me less than 1$ from Ebay.
Search for "US EU plug adapter" wherever youre looking for one, tho I see youve already found one :D

You might as well get EU cable from ebay/Lenovo for convenience, sometimes those adapters are cheaply built and you might get wobbly contact quickly(or even if its well built frequent usage might wear it out quickly when plugging it in/out and it will get some mechanical wear which can lead to inconvenience or failure) so EU cable that runs from power brick to your laptop in general would be better, 100% reliable alas more expensive and perhaps harder to source option.

You DO NOT need to buy new charger when going to EU, as already mentioned ;)
