My T61p was bought off eBay for $511.00 (great deal!!) and it has a 3 year Depot/EZserv warranty until December 2011, as it was, but location based in the US. My main question was:

Do you need to be at the specific location where the T61p originally shipped? Or can you just ship it out for service if you are anywhere in the States, does Lenovo state anything regarding warranties with multiple owners? Will they reject your shipped T61p if the original shipping address does not conform to the place in the US i'm sending it out from? I'd really like to use this warranty if i need to and might upgrade it to an Onsite warranty since we do own a second residence in Florida.

I had a similar question a few days ago. Basically, if your computer qualifies for IWC (International Warantee Service), it will work anywhere. All you have to do is look up your computer on Lenovo's site.

I called Lenovo and they confirmed this, because I'm in the same situation as you. Different owners does not matter, the warantee follows the serial # on the Thinkpad, I believe.

Turns out is does qualify for Internation service, thanks for your prompt reply, this is great, a perfectly good 3 year warranty, peace of mind for that GPU problem.
