    Hi

does everyone know when Lenovo will include the USB 3.0 for their Thinkpad line?
HP already made their move for the USB 3.0 on this February.
I want to go for the W510. However, without USB 3.0 I think i won't buy it

does the 2.5in SSD disk fit in thinkpad W510? or only 1.8 SSD disk

The W510 has two USB 3.0 ports. It will also support 2.5in.

That seems unlikely because Intel chipsets, which the W510 uses won't support it until 2011.

i have just checked on Lenovo website. For high end W series, 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Just still not sure about the 2.5 in. I am planning to buy the Cosair SSD 2.5in for it but not sure whether it will fit or not

According to Matt Kohut, all the laptop companies that has USB 3.0 support use a separate controller, so the W510 has the extra controller for the usb 3.0 support.

Bear in mind that usb 3.0 as it exists today will be a sub-optimal implementation, until integrated into intel/amd system chipset or south bridge Probably use (shared) pci-express lanes and there could be compatibility issues.

I think It comes with 2 USB 3.0, regarding to Lenovo's Website

"USB 3.0 technology (available on W510) improves file-transfer rates, speeds external device charging and enhances USB Web camera performance. W510 includes 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port and 1 USB 2.0/eSATA combo port. "

Anyway W510 is rock. you also get these features

"W510 mobile workstations offer X-Rite® PANTONE® color calibration for greater image accuracy, more precise color matching and a consistently true display. "

    " W510 models feature a 95% NTSC gamut, multitouch panel for enhanced true-life 2-D and 3-D images and easy-to-use Multi touch-screen technology"

My question is that it doesn't have HDMI prot but Display Port. Is the latter better?
