This just happened today: when I plug in a USB flash drive (tried two different ones) to my T61, it is not like before (usually there is immediately a window with the directory of the USB drive). In the "my computer" or "windows explorer", the drive is not seen. However, there is the icon indicating the USB device in the system tray (bottom of screen right corner) which if clicked one can "safely remove the USB device", which means it is somehow still recognized. But why isn't the directory shown anywhere? I can't access files on the USB flash drive. Help, please--appreciated!

Edit: I restarted the computer and now the USB drive appeared. Still don't know why it had the problem before, any explanation will be welcome! :)

Restart your comp and try it again, if that doesn't work, try it on a different computer and see what happens.

Thanks, just what I did :). Can you explain why it happened?

Sorry, I have no idea why this happens, but from personal experience that seems to remedy the situation =D

There are millions of computer problems that one can't explain but can fix. :D Better than when you do know the problem but can't fix it.
