Those of you guys with pending orders that are "in process", could you check the order status? Just did my daily update, and got this lovely message

"Customer not found. For Assistance call 1-877-999-7115."

So was my order canceled or something now? Too late to call for tonight, and this message doesn't sound too friendly. I have recieved zero emails from IBM except the original order conformation one.

I really hope this is a glitch, and not IBM canceling my orders

How did you order your order?

If you did it through something like the OSU site, like I did, forget about it. Your order did not survive. (Mine did, though. But, I'm somewhat affiliated with OSU.)

Mine still looks the same. Check it again today, I'll probably be back to normal.

Well, you've already seen how strange their electronic order tracking feature is. Obviously, you'll burst a blood vessel if you don't call them immediately, so ... do :D

Seems that the online thing is working for me again, and it is showing up as "In process" yet again. Still no change in the date though :(

I think it's worth it to order it through CDW. I just ordered my T60 and nothing went wrong. Sure it's backordered but that's to be expected. Plus CDW gives you an easy link to the $150 rebate.

If only they gave you a easy link to the 600 bucks I had knocked off the laptop price buying through IBM ;)

    Ouch...that was cold.

Seriously though, I posted on another forum about getting _significant_ discounts by just talking to the Lenovo reps. directly. You can read it here:

    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=21608

I got a 200793U, which lists at $3599, for $3023 (-16%). They don't have much ability to negotiate on the ThinkExpress models, but the others are fair game.

OK, if we're gonna go the cold route, I got $357 knocked off the price of my laptop.

A model that started at $1049.

It's called the OSU student discount.

    :D

Oh, and ScotchDiver, watch the mods over at thinkpads.com NUKE your post. Any discount greater than 10% is banned on those forums, because they're the forums of someone who sells them at 10 (new customers)-15 (returning customers)% discount.

I wonder if I can get a discount on the X series by calling in. I'm trying to get a decent (not top of the line) X series for under 1k

Either they haven't caught it yet or it slipped under the radar (I didn't actually quote the discount percentage there, but anyone could do the math in 10 seconds). Either way, its still up and un-edited after 2 days.
